Receptive

Earth carries all things
without exception,
without preference,
the good and evil
equally at home
in its impartial embrace.

Flower closes,
petals shut tight,
and contract in the night,
closed in natural
configuration.

Flower opens fully in the
light of the sun,
petals spread to
full extension,
exposed to sky
and sun,
without preference
or volition.

Without plan
or motive, receiving
the whole of the sky
and sun while opening,
closing in the
restfulness of night,
on generous earth.
